TVR’s M-Series was the first clean-sheet design from the Martin Lilley era as head of TVR. In many ways it brought TVR from cottage builder status to full-fledged sports car manufacturer. Its look was sleek and modern by early 70’s standards – influenced heavily by the Tuscan V8. A trio of engine options was available in the M. Base model 1600M’s carried a 1.6L Ford inline-4. A 6-cyclinder option came first in the form of the 3000M, which carried a European Ford V6, but it did not meet US emissions standards. For stateside sales TVR swapped in the smoother, more reliable, and emissions-compliant British Leyland 2.5L inline-6 from the Triumph TR6 to create the 2500M. Then in 1975 to boost performance the 3000M Turbo was launched and was the first British production turbocharged car, proving itself to be devastatingly fast. Finally an opening tailgate was introduced in 1976 as the Taimar. The entire M-Series with Turbo and Taimar continued in production through 1979 and became the best-selling TVR ever to that point.

The Automodello™ M-Series Turbo precision replica represents the first 1:43 scale model of one of TVR’s most memorable and admired vehicles. It is also the second TVR for Automodello following successful editions of the TVR M-Series and Griffith Series 200 which itself was based on the TVR Grantura. The Turbo is a car no TVR aficionado can ignore or should be without.
